The Celtics yet again didn't play up to their caliber however they were able to pull out a win! The Celtics closed the deal on this one 117-116 as Payton missed a driving layup as time expired to give the Celtics the win.
This win allowed the Celtics to stay a half game in front of the Cavs with a huge matchup looming on April 5th @ 8pm on ESPN.
Much like the last game against the Bucks the Celtics faced large multiple double digit deficits in the first half as they trailed the magic by as much as 13 before storming back in the third quarter to take a 92-90 lead.
IT struggled for much of the first half as the shots continued roll out of the rim and after a missed layup in which he was fouled on he spiked the ball into the ground. However, Thomas had another big second half and finished the game with 35 points raising his season average to 29.2 points per game.
Avery Bradley missed this game with an illness and is will not travel to the game against the Knicks on Sunday. The Celtics hope that he will be healthy enough to play against the Cavs Wednesday.
