The first quarter of this game was exactly what you thought it would be: highly competitive and very playoff-like. But then the second quarter started and the Celtics just started to run away with it. They had a little scare near the end of the game getting it to an 8 point win after leading by 20.
This was a huge win for the Celtics as they now have a 2.5 game hold of the 2nd-seed in the Eastern Conference and are back to 2 games back of the Cavaliers.
In Isaiah Thomas' first game back from injury, he picked up right where he left off. Finishing with 25 points and 4 assists. Avery Bradley was a key player in this game, ending with a close double-double of 20 points and 9 assists.
It was a very good overall night for the Celtics as they shut down the Wizards. For Washington, no player scored over 20 points as their highest scorer was Bradley Beal with 19. The Celtics also dominated in the rebounding category, outrebounding the Wizards 54-39 while Boston grabbed 20 offensive boards.
