Entry: SOC --- $1 entry --- "MLS 100 Step Over" --- 117 Entrants
Just so you all know, I will be posting the Day 4 challenges by 8 or 9 tonight. It will be a multiple sport day for us on Saturday, so make sure to keep an eye out for that! One of the entries will be a Weekend Golf, which has a 6am lock, so make sure you enter that tonight if you plan on playing!
For tonight's lineup, we will dip into the MLS. It is a three game slate, with a few interesting matchups. One thing to keep in mind if you are new to MLS DFS is that starting lineups are announced within an hour of the start of the game, and in soccer, they are only allowed 3 subs per game, so you pretty much always want to play starters.
The first matchup I want to discuss, and the one where we are going to try and get leverage on the field is the Seattle at Vancouver game. Most neutral observers will see this matchup and assume Seattle wins easily... I disagree however. Freddy Montero will be playing his old team and quite frankly, I think he will step his game way up for the occasion. Also, most people not from the northwest forget that this is a rivalry and Vancouver always steps their game up. I do think this game will also have the most goals in it of the night, so I went overweight on the pricey play-makers.
In the other matchups, San Jose has a few nice bargains on it, playing against a Dallas team that tends to struggle a bit on the road. I like Lima's speed down the wing to create some chances and love Urena to create up the middle. The other game on the slate is Philadelphia hosting NYC. On paper, people will assume a high scoring game with New York winning handly, but I think it stays tight, and probably finishes in a relatively boring 1-1 score line. Games like that tend to limit fantasy production... so it is the least played for us tonight.
